
Head of Finance / CFO

Our client is an international production company. On their behalf, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Head/ Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their financial operations and support their growth objectives. The CFO will work closely with the executive team to drive financial performance, ensure financial stability, and support long-term planning.
Responsibilities:
• Financial Strategy and Leadership: Develop and implement the company's financial strategy in alignment with business goals. Advise the CEO and board on financial implications and strategic decisions.
• Financial Accounting and Reporting: Oversee accurate and timely financial accounting and reporting, including balance sheets, profit & loss, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with national and international GAAP as applicable to the company.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, including financial forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario planning to ensure financial targets are met.
• Performance Measurement: Measure, control and oversee Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the company relating to productivity, margin, yields, efficiency, etc.
• Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Ensure optimal cash flow management, monitoring liquidity and working capital requirements. Manage relationships with banks, suppliers, and other financial stakeholders.
• Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop risk management frameworks. Oversee the company's risk management strategies, ensuring that adequate insurance and safeguards are in place.
• Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulations, and industry standards. Oversee audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team. Provide mentorship, training, and career development opportunities to staff.
• Financial Systems & Technology (not a must, nice to have): Improve financial systems and processes, ensuring robust internal controls and financial management software. Lead digital transformation initiatives in the finance department.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in senior financial roles, preferably within an international production company.
• Proven track record in financial management, budgeting, and strategy development.
• Experience working with companies of a similar size, ideally with turnover in the range of EUR 15 million and upwards.
• Knowledge of Bulgarian/ EU tax laws and financial regulations is essential.
• Fluency in Bulgarian and English are a must.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent analytical and MS Excel skills. Financial modeling skills could be an added bonus.
• High proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
• Strong business acumen and ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
